75th I-Day: Walkathon and Congratulations


Central Workshop, South Western Railway, Ashokapuram: The 75th Independence Day (I-Day) celebration was held at the Railway Workshop Sports Ground in Ashokapuram. Officers, staff and their families attended the ceremony. Chief Guest OP Shaw, Head of Workshop, Central Workshop, South Western Railway, Mysuru, raised the national flag. This was followed by the playing of the national anthem, after which the chief guest inspected the parade and addressed the assembly.

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Central Workshop employees had organized a 75 km Walkathon on August 13 in which 50 employees participated and reached Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Park on the morning of August 15. Cultural programs were held and awards were presented to employees’ wards and employees for obtaining first, second and third place in quiz, drawing and essay competitions.

Masjid-e-Mubeen, NR Mohalla: Flag hoisting and congratulation to SSLC and PUC honor holders in NR Mohalla belonging to all faiths was organized by Masjid-e-Mubeen management on 15th August. The national flag was hoisted by guest leader retd. KAS officer Siraj Ahmed Khalid. Sector Corporal Pradeep Chandra attended the event. About 125 members were present as well as 25 trophy winners with their parents. Siraj Ahmed Khalid and senior member Mohammed Ismail delivered a motivational speech to the students. Secretary Baseer Ahmed hosted the rally. Vice President Ibrahim Khaleel proposed a vote of thanks. President Javeed Ahmed, members Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Afsar Pasha and Imam Haliz Ejaz Ahmed were present.

Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions, Mysuru: Dr. G. Subrahmanya Sharma, Managing Director, Sudeeksha Group, Bengaluru (grandson of former presidents Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Dr. VV Giri), who was the chief guest during the celebrations for the feast of the independence at Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions on August 15, was congratulated on the occasion. Institutional President Dr. BM Subraya, Hon. Secretary N. Chandrashekar, Senior Board Members R. Narasimha, SL Ramachandra, Nagesh Hanasoge, Dr. TK Umesh, BS Parthasarathi and S. Nagaraj were present. Empty. Kavyashree R. Rao returned the summons. Dr. M. Devika, Director of the University College, was welcomed. The Director of the College of Law, PK Vinita, introduced the guest. The Director of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Hanumanthachar Joshi, offered a vote of thanks. Assistant Professor of the College of Law C. Vani and Professor G. Bhagyamma participated in the program. Cultural programs were presented on this occasion.

The Muslim Co-operative Bank Ltd.: The Bank’s President, Dr. Abdul Ravoof raised the national flag during the 75th Independence Day celebration at the Bank’s premises on Sayyaji Rao Road in the city. The directors and staff of the Bank sang the national anthem on this occasion.

Mysore Paints and Varnish Ltd. (MPVL): The 75th I-Day was celebrated at MPVL premises with MPVL President Raghu Kautilya raising the national flag on the occasion. General Manager G. Kumaraswamy, General Manager C. Harakumar, leaders and staff were present. On this occasion, children of MPVL staff who had obtained high marks in SSLC and PUC received Pratibha Puraskar.

Sigma Hospital, Mysuru: Freedom Fighter HC Revanna who hoisted the national flag during Independence Day celebrations held at Sigma Hospital was congratulated on the occasion. Hospital Chief Executive Officer S. Jnanashankar and Directors Dr. Anjali Siddesh, Dr. KM Madappa, Dr. Rajeshwari Madappa, Shyla Shankar, Sigma Nursing College Director R. Manjunath and Nursing Students nurses, hospital doctors and administrative staff were present. On occasion, it was announced that the hospital offers free health check-up services to freedom fighters.

Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh and Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Yuva Sanghatana Association, Mysuru: As part of the 75th Independence Day, the flag was raised followed by the performance of the national anthem. A bicycle rally was also organized by Yuva Sanghatana members of Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Bhavan in Mahaveer Nagar, Halladakeri.

Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh President Subhashchandji Dhoka, Vice President Subhashchandji Darda, Yuva Sanghatana President Manohar Sankala, Ipp Rajan Baghmar, Secretary Rakesh Bantia, Treasurer Kiran Salecha; Chandan Bala Mahila Mandal President Maina Bai Baghmar; Rajul Bahu Mandal President Manjubai Makàna, Secretary Seema Mutha; Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sanskriti Kanya Mandal President Lishika Sankala and others were present on the occasion.

Al-Kareem School, Rajivnagar: Day I was celebrated in a grand manner. It started with a parade followed by the hoisting of the flag. The students presented different cultural programs illustrating patriotism and secularism. Main Guest Suhail Baig, Former Principal, Alhaj Hussaini Baig, Founder of Al-Kareem School, Administrator Rahamathulla Baig, Main Guests Sabira Banu, Retired Railway Worker and Syeda Misbah, Fashion Designer, President Kaleemulla Baig, Teacher in chef Yasmeen Sultana, teachers, parents and students were present.
