Allen ISD does not offer virtual learning during the school day, but from next week a few extra-curricular courses will be available virtually.
Allen ISD’s community education department is partnering with local organizations and businesses to deliver in-person and virtual extracurricular classes to K-8 students.
Classes provided are not standard extracurricular activities that take place during the school day and do not include team sports or music lessons.
Some of the extracurricular enrichment courses available include Spanish, Drama, Science, and Chess.
The first group of lessons begins the week of October 18. Next semester, extracurricular classes will start the week of February. Parents interested in registering their students for these courses must do so directly with the provider.
Fees vary by course and provider. Most courses cost an average of around $ 200 for multiple sessions over multiple weeks. Registration for courses is on a first come, first served basis.
For questions about the after-school program, Allen ISD’s community education department can be contacted at 972-727-0502 or by email, [email protected]
Questions regarding a specific course should be directed to the course provider.
