LAHORE: Punjab’s Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid presided over an induction ceremony for 940 vehicles into the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) fleet on Wednesday. On occasion were local government secretary Noorul Amin Mengal, LWMC general manager Ms. Rafia Haider and other officials.
Noorul Amin Mengal and Ms. Rafia Haider briefed the Minister of Health on the details of these vehicles and their usefulness in Punjab. Vehicles include rickshaw, tractor loader, chain arm roller, dumpers, mini dumpers, power washers, power sweepers and compactors.
The Minister of Health said that to solve the problem of waste disposal and cleanliness in Lahore, the induction of these vehicles is a huge step forward. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is very focused on the cleanliness of Lahore. The purpose of induction of these vehicles is to keep Lahore clean and increase the performance of LWMC.
Speaking on immunization, the health minister said the government was wrongly criticized for immunization. “So far, we have vaccinated over 48 million people in Punjab. The coronavirus and dengue fever situation is being closely monitored and we are using optimal resources to control these viruses. We are now starting to vaccinate children over 12 years old.
She said, “We are seeing an increase in dengue fever cases due to stagnant water and rains. Lahore is currently the epicenter of dengue fever. Every day 10,000 homes are inspected and all hot spots are monitored. The member state and staff responsible for the false entry in Nawaz Sharif’s vaccination case have been suspended and further investigations are ongoing. Nawaz Sharif’s case of false vaccination entry had a possible link with the discrediting of our vaccination successes.
The whole world appreciates Pakistan’s immunization performance. The international media, especially the economist, recently praised Pakistan for the progress in immunization, she said. The Minister of Health said the government is developing seven hospitals for mothers and children. She said the government had hired more than 35,000 doctors. By December 2021, all families in Punjab will receive health cards. Special services are offered to people living below the poverty line. Dr Yasmin said it was the court that disqualified Nawaz Sharif. She added that she was the first to file a complaint against the former prime minister. She further stated that Nawaz Sharif hid his property from the nation and that he lied to the nation. He lied saying he was disqualified on Aqama. It was surprising why a prime minister would need an Aqama. Ishaq Dar had signed all Hudabiya Paper Mills documents in 2020 and Shahbaz Sharif was the guarantor of Nawaz Sharif. She said the money laundering case against Nawaz Sharif was deliberately dropped. All political parties agree on the corruption of Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was taken on board for obvious reasons. Shahbaz Sharif has to say that it was our government that fired him. Where did Shahbaz Sharif’s guarantee that he gave for his older brother go? Nawaz Sharif is sick because he cannot come to Pakistan otherwise he is fine. He must return to pay tribute to the vote. Respect for voting is not given from afar, but by standing alongside your own people.
