CAT 2021 registration starts tomorrow @ check eligibility criteria and other details


CAT 2021: The online registration process for the Common Admission Test 2021 (CAT 2021) will start from tomorrow, August 4. All applicants can apply for CAT 2021 on the official website, which is linked to According to the official notice, the deadline to apply for the CAT exam is September 15th. This year, the CAT exam will take place on November 28 in three sessions. CAT 2021 will take place in 158 cities.

CAT 2021 is a prerequisite for admission to various IIM postgraduate and scholarship / doctorate programs. CAT 2021 scores can be used by non-IIM member institutions. A list of these institutions is provided on the CAT website. IIMs have no role in the selection process of non-IIM institutions.

How to register for CAT 2021:

Applicants can register for CAT 2021 on the official CAT 2021 website, between 10 a.m. on August 4, 2021 and 5 p.m. on September 15, 2021.

The registration steps are as follows:

1. Register to generate a unique username and password.
2. Log in with the generated user ID and password to complete the request form.
3. Submit the application form after entering details and making online payment to complete the registration and application process.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% of marks or an equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories], awarded by a university or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or declared to be considered a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 , or have an equivalent qualification recognized by the Department of Human Resources, Government of India.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated on the basis of the practice followed by the respective university / institution. In the case of grades / GPA, the conversion to grade percentage would be based on the procedure certified by the respective university / institution. If a university / institution confirms that there is no system for converting GPA to equivalent grades, equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s GPA by the maximum possible GPA and multiplying the result by 100.

Applicants presenting for the final year of the baccalaureate / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results may also apply.

CAT 2021 exam template:

The duration of the test will be 120 minutes. There will be three sections:
Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Section II: Interpretation of data and logical reasoning
Section III: Quantitative capacity
Candidates will have exactly 40 minutes to answer the questions in each section and they will not be allowed to move from one section to another while answering the questions in a section.
