DeKalb High School Music Students Head to Southern California – Shaw Local

DeKALB – DeKalb High School music students traveled to Southern California this past weekend to perform with school bands and orchestral ensembles in Los Angeles and San Diego.

This trip is the first travel opportunity for music students in over two years.

According to a press release, students, staff and fans flew out on Sunday to tour and perform in Los Angeles and San Diego at several entertainment and educational venues. The group will return to Illinois on Friday.

Performances will include the DHS Orchestra performing at Disney’s California Adventure, the DHS Marching Band performing at the Disneyland Parade, and a joint performance at the Spreckles Organ Pavilion. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a Disney Imagination Campus/Performing Arts workshop.

Students will also be able to visit and have fun at various locations including Disneyland and California Adventure, The Grove and LA Farmers Market, La Jolla Cove, Coronado Island and Old Town San Diego, San Diego Zoo , Tuna Harbor Park and Seaport Village and a dinner cruise and dance.
