Roles and responsibilities

Applications are invited for the position of Junior researcher (JDR) for the project funded by ISRO-RESPOND at the School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC), (ISRO / RES / 3/882 / 21-22), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).

Project title : “Optimization of Flux Activated Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Parameters for AISI 304L Stainless Steel to Achieve Maximum Weld Depth / Width Ratio and Improved Mechanical Properties”.

Qualification: First class in ME / M.Tech. (Welding Technology / Materials Science and Engineering / Metallurgy / Manufacturing Engineering / Production Technology / Industrial Engineering / Computer Integrated Manufacturing) with a valid GATE score and solid subject knowledge, commitment and motivation to pursue research in the field.

Desirable (if applicable): Candidates with knowledge of welding technology, materials science and metallurgy, material characterization, optimization techniques and technical writing experience will be preferred.

Processing: Rs. 31000 / – per month + 9% HRA for the period of two years
Sponsorship agency: ISRO under Respond Scheme
Duration: 2 years
