Wednesday January 5, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m .: Quilt Guild All Ages. Bring your sewing machine and work on a project while sharing quilting ideas and tips!

Monday January 10, 2022 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m .: Explorer’s Club 6 years old (kindergarten) – 5th year. The Explorer’s Club meets on the second Monday of each month from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each month we will explore a different topic. In January, we’ll be exploring Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day!

Wednesdays, January 12, 19 and 26, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m .: Story time for ages 2 to 5. These programs aim to support early learning in groups. Join us for a mix of stories and activities that provide fun opportunities for children to practice skills that prepare them for reading. Light snacks will be served. Donations of nutritional snacks are appreciated.

Thursday January 13, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m .: Lego Club for ages 5 to 12. Imagine it. Built the. Legos and K’nex will be provided. Donations of new Legos or money to purchase additional Legos are welcome.

COVID-19 tests at home! The Mechanicsburg Public Library is delighted to provide free in-home COVID-19 testing via curbside pickup. To use a test kit, you must have access to the internet and either a smartphone / tablet with camera, or a computer / laptop with webcam. Anyone can access a free test during business hours. Customers can request more than one test (limit of four tests per family). Click & Collect service at the curb! A service available through the SEO Libraries application. Curb Click & Collect is an easy way to collect pending items via a curbside service. Look for the Click & Collect button in the Holds section of your app. You can start the process for qualifying items and let us know when you get to the library throughout the app – no phone calls required! Mechanicsburg High School Digitized Directories The Mechanicsburg Public Library is pleased to announce that certain Mechanicsburg High School directories have been digitized and are now available anywhere on a website, in the library on DVDs and USB drives, and at view on DVD and USB keys. Visit to view and search selected directories from 1954 to 1987. Portions from 1990-2021 are coming soon!

Hoopla Digital Hoopla Digital is a now available service that includes instant access to over 500,000 eBooks, audiobooks, comics, video streaming (movies and TV shows) and music streaming. Mechanicsburg customers can borrow 10 items per month. Download the Hoopla Digital app for iOS, Android or Kindle Fire or visit the Hoopla website to create an account with your library card and get started! If you don’t have a library card, you can get a digital card online. Hoopla is also compatible with Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast and Roku. Hotspots Mechanicsburg Public Library is pleased to announce its Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot Loan Program which will help make information more accessible to community members. The Mobile Hotspot Lending Collection provides patrons with improved Internet access outside of the library and reinforces the library’s mission to support the informational, educational, economic, cultural and recreational development of Mechanicsburg. Hotspots can be viewed for two weeks (14 days) by customers 18 years of age and older. To request a Hotspot, please call or drop by the library.

Northstar Digital Literacy Training Northstar Digital Literacy Training is now available at the Mechanicsburg Public Library! Training options include basic computer skills, Internet basics, use of email, Windows, Mac OS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Docs, social media, fluency in information, K-12 distance learning support, career search skills and your digital Footprint. Visit to create an account. Take an assessment to see which digital skills you can improve. Call the library at 937-834-2004 to register for a supervised assessment and get a certificate that you can show to potential employers.
