Rubber spiders and plastic bats may be filling the aisles of our local stores right now as October approaches and people are looking to add a cute element to their fall decorations.

But among the eight-legged arachnids and flying mammals, there’s another icon of the season: snakes, which also appear in Halloween-like signs, centerpieces, and garden haunts.

Are snakes, however, fully deserving of slipping onto the spookier side of our imaginations? Or is there much to learn from these fascinating reptiles, including how they move so wonderfully on the ground, what they prefer to eat, and how fangs work?

We have many torturous questions, and the Kidspace Children’s Museum has the educational answers.

And if you and your snake obsessed loved ones go through Pasadena Educational Institution until Halloween 2021, there is a lot you can learn and experience.

Because “Ssssensational Ssssnakes” is now visible at the museum, which is located in Brookside Park, not far from Rose Bowl Stadium.

Visitors to the limited-time exhibit should “… (g) be prepared to shed their old snake ideas!” Advises Kidpace.

You will have the opportunity to meet a quintet of reptile ambassadors, cuties covered in scales with memorable nicknames: Keys, Milky Way, Goober, Disco and Legolas.

Hands-on activities can also be found around the snake-tastic space. If your child could build their own snake puppet, how striped would it be? Would it have several shades? This is where you will find out.

Kidspace’s indoor exhibits recently opened, but there are still outdoor worlds to explore, including Arroyo Adventure and Physics Forest.

To learn more about safety, admission, and what snake fans can expect, head over to the Kidspace site now.
