Southport is having some great events people can enjoy this fall!
Southport Comedy Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary with 16 top comedians over 17 days; The Southport Food and Drink Festival makes its long-awaited return; live music returns to Atkinson with the Southport Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival; and fireworks will explode in the skies over Southport when the British Musical Fireworks Championship returns in full force.
We also have some exciting new events to check out including: Classic and Speed, Spectacular Light Trail, and the Festival of Fantastic Machines.

1. Southport Food and Drink Festival
The Southport Food and Drink Festival is back, from Friday September 3 through Sunday September 5. Free admission!
If you love food, you must add this event at Victoria Park in Southport to your calendar.
A gourmet’s paradise with a little something for everyone to enjoy. Stimulate your senses and try dishes from different cultures – you can enjoy pancakes, gourmet burgers, hot wings, churros, spiral potatoes, paella and curry on Street Food stalls.
For the first time, there will also be a complementary home and garden experience for visitors, as part of the festival’s fall theme.
Throughout the weekend, the entertainment arena will host local bands and musicians, you can sunbathe (hopefully!), And savor the amazing food and drink.
2. British Musical Fireworks Championship
The British Musical Fireworks Championship is a three-night fireworks competition, where contestants compete against each other to be crowned the ultimate winners.
Located in beautiful Victoria Park from Friday September 24 to Sunday September 26, the British Musical Fireworks Championship features fireworks like no other. Over three nights, prepare for breathtaking shows, an array of lights, and a mix of music that will get you dancing.
The British Musical Fireworks Championship is a pyromusical competition. This means the fireworks are in sync with the music and the entire show is choreographed to provide the audience with some of the most spectacular fireworks you will ever see.
Over three nights, there will be seven 15-minute displays. Seven contestants will host breathtaking pyro-witchcraft, with a panel of professional judges scoring each post-event display, before announcing the winner on Sunday evening.
3. Festival of Fantastic Machines
A brand new event will take place in Southport in September, celebrating a wide range of vehicles of all shapes, sizes and ages!
Southport Pleasureland will host the Festival of Fantastic Machines on Saturday September 25 and Sunday September 26.
A spokesperson for Southport Pleasureland said: “This two-day event is a celebration of the British passion for all things mechanical.
“Southport has a fabulous history of steam and speed. From classic car making, to steam enthusiasts, to beach racing, to land speed records to Stephenson’s rocket. It all happened here at one point or another. And we bring back those glory days for you.
“The fantastic event includes: a steam rally, automobile jumble, vintage cars and bikes, military vehicles, fairground rides and traders.”

4. Southport Comedy Festival
The Southport Comedy Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year – unveiling a new festival vibe!
The event, from October 1 to 17, traditionally takes place every October at venues around the resort, including theaters, bars, restaurants, leisure attractions and more.
This year, every Southport Comedy Festival show will take place under a luxury marquee at Victoria Park in Southport, with a Beer Garden Festival – and the loudest lineup of all time.
This year’s top performers include: Jason Byrne, Reginald D Hunter, Jo Caulfield, Tom Stade, Ed Byrne, Mark Thomas, Paul Sinha, Tez Ilyas, Luisa Omielan, Hal Cruttenden, Geoff Norcott, Steve Royle, Helen Bauer, Troy Hawke , Katie Tracey and David Eagle. Tickets are now on sale.

5. Classic Southport and Speed
Southport’s record-breaking automotive sporting heritage will be celebrated at the city’s Victoria Park on Sunday, October 10.
The centerpiece of Southport Classic and Speed will be a fabulous thematic display of vintage, vintage, classic and modern cars from all eras, followed by a grand parade along Lord Street and the promenade, the location of the course. original from 1903 Speed Trial.
Additional attractions will include exhibits of automobile brands and clubs, local crafts, food and drink stalls, and a shopping village.
Entrance for all family members will be free.
Classic cars and motorcycles from all eras are invited to participate.

6. Southport Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival
This year, the Southport Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival takes place at The Atkinson on Lord Street in Southport on Sunday October 10, between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Early Bird tickets cost £ 29 / Early Bird tickets £ 33. Plus £ 1 booking fee per ticket online / phone.
Acts include: Sari Schorr, Dana Gillespie, Kyla Brox, The Cinelli Brothers, Connor Selby and The Mojo Preachers.

7. Spectacular trail of light
A spectacular after dark light trail will arrive in Southport this year, from November 25 to December 23 from 4:30 p.m. each evening.
The captivating trail of light will weave a 1.2 km route around beautiful Victoria Park.
Tickets for the Light Trail are booked on the basis of a departure time slot, but you can take as long as you want to hike the Magic Trail. Visitors will be greeted in a Christmas zone where mulled wine and festive street food stalls will prepare delicious treats. Once on the Light Trail, visitors can expect 3D projections, light tunnels, a wishing tree, interactive shadow play and a laser light maze and more.
In previous years, the Luminate event has taken place at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate and Margam Park in South Wales.
