Western Cape – Stellenbosch University (SU) released a statement confirming that another student was filmed urinating on a roommate’s chair months after the urinating incident caused an outcry .
In May, former SU student Theuns du Toit was recorded urinating in another student’s room, Babalo Ndwayana’s room. Du Toit was subsequently expelled from the institution.

According SchedulesLIVE, SU Deputy Vice Chancellor for Learning and Teaching, Professor Deresh Ramjugernath confirmed the incident in a statement. He said a drunk student urinated on a roommate’s chair. The statement said:
“The management of Helshoogte Residence was made aware of an incident on Thursday and immediately reported it to the relevant university structures for urgent investigation. It also received immediate and priority attention from the executive management of the SU. The incident involved an intoxicated student urinating on his roommate’s chair.The student involved has been suspended from residence pending the outcome of an investigation.

News24 reports that the student has been suspended from residence while the institution conducts an internal investigation. Prof Deresh Ramjugernath, a decision on whether or not to suspend the student from the institution will be announced.

In other news, In brief News reported that 2 suspects have been arrested by Gauteng Police in connection with the Nomzamo Tavern shooting which left 16 people dead in Soweto.
The massacre occurred when armed men entered the tavern, opened fire and shot randomly at people in the establishment.
According to TimesLive, police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said one suspect was arrested in Gauteng on Thursday and the other suspect was arrested in North Cape on Friday.
